i’ve got the itch, already…and it’s not even spring.
casey berry, we’re the travelin’ type.
can’t shake that.
new orleans.
breakfast of champions.
i have a thing for spiced breads and cookies.
i apologize for the recent multitude of crappy iphone photographs, especially in comparison to my real photography at the start of this blog. until i have time to dig out the camera, and take real photos again, you’ll have to deal with 2 megapixels, and the spontaneity found in a quickly snapped moment of my life.
visited alaqua animal refuge this morning.
it was amazing. the people were incredibly friendly, and there were lots of families and couples filling out adoption applications (yay!)
great way to spend the morning while anticipating horrible afternoon weather
(flood warning, tornado watch, high surf advisory- oh my!)
my family does this ridiculous dirty santa thing.
and i had my boyfriend steal an amaryllis bulb from my dearest cousin ashley.
and one half of it bloomed yesterday, so i took this picture.
today, the other side has bloomed.
it’s a bittersweet victory of gardening, though…
every time i look at it, i see ashley’s stricken face as matt took it from her hands.
love you, ashley...
i have this problem. i remember every birthday, ever. but, with great birthday memory, comes great responsibility. you see, i can remember anyone’s date of birth, but will miss my dear friends’ birthdays by sheer lack of awareness concerning the current date…
does that makes sense?
example: i’ve had little notes all over my house saying, “don’t forget...
i’ve had no time to decorate, of course…
but next year, my room will be cozy and perfect.
today.
no drilling.
yep, that’s a little bird on top.
january sunset. (iphone photography)
this first little bit of teaching has meant: wake up, coffee, teach, coffee throughout, teach, eat, sleep. do over.
i wouldn’t have it any other way.
(maybe more coffee)
I didn’t forget about you, dearest blog.
I’m without internet or phone at my little house until Tuesday.
So, expect all sorts of news and photographs.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I rang it in watching fireworks fired from a boat in the Gulf of Mexico.
Perfection.
